That's the title of
a good piece by Rod Dreher, at
Real Clear Religion. The name is self-explanatory; what we especially like is that, after the customary nods to liturgical Latin and orthodox otherwordliness, he then makes his case most strongly with
a heartfelt story about small-town Methodism.
Because -- and this is important --
every community has its rituals. And those rituals matter.
Dreher is not, by any means, our favorite opinionator of the day. But this essay is worth reading and thinking about.
