[Ambrose's?] "Iam lucis ordo sidere" is an example. Newman makes it ""Now that the daystar glimmers bright". This is perfectly Biblical (Rev. 22:16, e.g.) But I suppose it weakens the image of the sun a bit.

Ah, well. That's why it's poetry.Father Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18170260624474428623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15178007.post-46247127526121562882010-09-10T16:11:09.154-04:002010-09-10T16:11:09.154-04:00"People, Look East"? 248 ELW? Advent, ..."People, Look East"? 248 ELW? Advent, of course... but might be more flexible. Not really on target either, but has at least as much of the imagery you're looking for as any of the others you mentioned.Matt P.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15178007.post-76654669810998436332010-09-10T12:37:51.943-04:002010-09-10T12:37:51.943-04:00Hey I credit my learning the Words of Institution ...Hey I credit my learning the Words of Institution so quickly by heart from turning my back to the wall altar to face the people.

But you know that's not the real reason you'd never come back to my parish.Pastor Joellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14212838423929588352noreply@blogger.com
